Instructions

  2. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gradually add sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until glossy.
  3. Spread the meringue onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 1.5 hours.
  4. Once cooled, break the meringue into pieces.
  5. In a large bowl, layer the meringue, custard, whipped cream, and berries in a trifle dish.
  6. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of berries on top.
