  • 1 loaf challah bread
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on one slice of challah bread.
  3. Add sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese and cover with another slice of bread to make a sandwich.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder. In another bowl, combine milk and eggs.
  5. Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and fry each sandwich until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Remove from the pan and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes
