1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups red wine
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 carrots, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in size.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown on all sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add onion, carrots, and celery. Sauté until vegetables are softened.
Pour in red wine and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for 30 minutes.
Notes
For added flavor, you can use homemade beef broth.
Serve the meatballs over pasta or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
